Biography
Lefteris Voulgarakis, also known as DJ Lefteris 55, is one of the most famous Dj's in Chania.
It all started when he was in high school in 1984, when he started to listening to music, mainly disco and from then on he decided to get involved with music.
His first steps as an professional DJ happened in Rock Cardillac in his hometown Alikianos in 1988. This was basically where he started to listen to learn the process of playing music
His next professional experience was in 1989 where he worked at the radio station called Venus 91 Fm in Chania. It was a new radio station in the city of Chania, where he really learned a lot of things about being a DJ. Dimitris Christodoulakis who was the found of the station, who unfortunately passed away, was the one who encouraged him to stay on the road of Dj’ing and so Lefteris continued his passion and dream for music.
In 1994 he opened his own music bar called Dielefsis Scandinavian DJ Bar, in the famous turist area Platanias in Crete. It was an idea he started for fun, when he was 20 years old and he though it would be a good idea to have his own business, while still playing music on the road. Now 28 years later and the bar is still going strong. The people who visit his bar, always comment on the great atmosphere and music. Many tourist are coming summer after summer, just to visit Lefteris and his bar. When you visit you become a part of the Dielefsis family.
To combine his own bar with working in other places can only be managed because Lefteris loves what he is doing. It is his passion and dream. The money comes second always.
In general Lefteris believes that music itself is a source of energy and inspiration and because it is constantly changing it renews you and you never get bored.
Even during covid he never stopped playing music and he got in his best shape ever, leaving him now with a biography that only few Dj’s can provide.
